Scandal-plagued conservatives battle negative opinion polls and cynical voters ahead of two crucial elections

SEOUL (17 February 2012) — South Korea’s ruling party Saenuri has come under increased pressure this week as the opposition draws strength from favourable opinion polls to call for President Lee Myung-bak to make a public apology for his scandal-plagued administration and to reshuffle his cabinet.
