Gilani becomes first sitting Pakistani prime minister to be indicted
ISLAMABAD (17 February 2012) — In a first for any sitting prime minister in Pakistan, Yousaf Raza Gilani was this week charged by the country’s activist supreme court with contempt. Gilani pleaded not guilty in a case that threatens Pakistan with renewed political instability.
