Sri Lankans prepare to tighten their belts — and take to the streets — as prices soar

COLOMBO (17 February 2012) — One person was killed and at least four others were injured on February 15 when police fired on fishermen protesting fuel price hikes in the fishing town of Chilaw, 70 kilometres north of Colombo.
