Flooding in central Thailand puts pressure on government’s reconstruction efforts

BANGKOK (17 February 2012) — Flooding in Ayutthaya in central Thailand last week put the Thai government in the hot seat as it began work on the massive reconstruction projects required in the wake of the major floods last year that caused an estimated 1.4 trillion baht (US$45.5 billion) of damage.
